If you are not already a subscriber, this is the perfect time to sign up, via RSS or via email.
***IMPORTANT*** Before you do anything else, you have to verify your email address. When you created your free account with Google, you gave Google your email address. Now Google wants to make sure you really exist, at that address, and that you intentionally created the Google account. So they send you a message in which they ask you to verify your address by clicking on a link in the email message. All you have to do is CLICK ON IT. Don’t forget to do this, otherwise Google will not recognize you when you try to open your browser. It’s just one click, and they will say something like “thank you for verifying your address and enjoy the many features of your Google account.”
Once you’ve taken care of this very simple but important step, you’re ready for the next step, which is enhancing your homepage with some of those great features that Google offers through its iGoogle page. This is a page you can customize in many ways by adding what are called widgets (little windows with… guess what? RSS feeds from other sites!) that can bring you anything from the weather to news sites, from jokes to your gmail, and much, much more.
So click on the link below to watch the video and learn how to make your internet experience so much more fun, rich and efficient.
In the next lesson, you are going to learn how to customize your iGoogle page. See you then!
